We LOVE some fall time!

I meant to upload these this weekend and was super busy.  Enjoy these pictures of our outside time. Autumn is a time that reminds us of how creative our God is.  What a beautiful world he gave us!
We are blessed with beautiful weather, great classes, and a wonderful school.  Thank you, God!
Thanks for visiting Chik-fil-a Cows!

We joined the whole school to watch Mars Hill Show Choir on the TODAY show!

Are you ready for some football?

I'm seeing DOUBLE

We love Pumpkins!

Mrs. Rutledge's class carved a pumpkin.  We touched the "pumpkin guts" and seeds.  We voted on what shape we wanted to carve for the eyes, nose, and mouth.  Mrs. Rutledge carved it and we watched.  We talked about the steps to grow a pumpkin.  We also talked about what kind of animal might sleep inside our pumpkin.  We came up with a mouse, rat, ant, kitten, baby bird, and an eyeball.  haha Got to love their creative minds.

Proof that Mrs. Rutledge was the only one to touch the knife.  We also talked about "safety" and how we should never play with sharp objects.
Ewwww, pumpkin guts.

Here's our final product.  Meet our new student, Jack.

ROOOOAR!!!!

We want to thank Steven and Jamie Smith for bring us some pumpkins to paint.  Logan's dad sells pumpkins and mums on Hwy 72....Need some pumpkins?  Go see Logan's dad, Steven.
We had a great time painting them.

Peace, Love, and Pumpkins

McGee Farms

Wednesday we went to the Pumpkin Patch.  Wow, what a great day!  The weather was perfect.
We loved riding the school bus.  That is always a treat.  We separated into our classes and went to different stations.  The stations included:  Milking a cow (fake one), Sliding on corn, playing on hay, looking for vegetables in the sand (we plucked them and planted them back), feeding the chickens and turkeys, visiting the cotton fields, and a hayride that ended with picking out our very own pumpkin.

What a day!  We were exhausted and slept so good during rest time.

This was the favorite station!

Watch out turkey!  You might be my meal in a little over a month.  Gobble Gobble!

Bird Nests

For the past 2 weeks we have a hand full of girls and boys who have been building bird nests in a little tree on the playground.  They have done a great job!  The nests are so sturdy that they have not fallen down.  They look like real nests too.  Friday, a duck got on the playground and was flying around.  I guess he saw the great bird nests and wanted to check it out.  Way to go girls and boys!

Are you ready for some football?!?

For the past 2 months Mr. Looser has been throwing and kicking the football to the boys and a few girls.  I don't know who enjoys it more, the kids or Mr. Looser?  Every now and then Mrs. Rutledge will jump in on the fun.  Mr. Looser is building for the Mars Hill football team.  He is starting them off young.

Congrats to Mars Hill's football team on their first win last week!  Goooo Panthers!

How appropriate that Ellie had football cupcakes for her birthday.  She is one of our tough football players :)

Fairy Tale Friday

Last week we studied fairy tales.  We talked about "The 3 Little Pigs," "Goldilocks and the 3 bears," "Jack and the beanstalk," and more.  We started a new tradition this year.  "Friday Tale Friday."  The kids got to dress up as their favorite fairy tale.  During chapel the kids got to get on stage and Mr. Looser introduced them all.  We had a variety of characters: Princesses, Big Bad Wolf, a pig, the gingerbread man, Snow White's huntsman, Jack and the beanstalk, and more.  What a sight to see!

Robin Hood and Peter Pan giving "knucks" to Mr. Looser

Who's afraid of the big bad wolf?!?!

During chapel, Olivia made sure that we knew she was Pig number 2.  You know, the one with the straw house. haha!
This is the whole Kindergartners watching "Mickey and the Beanstalk (1947)."  They were glued to it and loved it so much.  They even asked the next week to watch it again.  This goes to show the older Disney movies are some of the best.  This movie would make a great Christmas gift from Santa :)

Godfather's Field Trip

What a great day!  The kids have been talking about this field trip and really looking forward to it.  Thank you to all the parents who came out and helped us and enjoyed some pizza.  Mark and Patty were wonderful with the kids.  They even said they look forward to the Kindergartners coming.  The kids were really into it.  He should us how to make dough.  He even gave us our own piece to touch and feel.    And of course, he tossed the dough in the air and told us why he does that.  He show us his big machines and what they are used for.  After he gave us a tour around the kitchen he let us make our own pizza.  That's right, we got to make our own pizza at Godfather's.  The sure did look good coming out of the oven.  We want to send a big thank you to Mark and Patty at Godfather's.  What a yummy day!

You have to be 18 to run this machine.  It makes the dough

Mr. Mark showing us the ingredients for the dough.

Mr. Mark showed us the different sizes of pans.

YUM!

Thanks Mrs. Patty for helping us with the toppings!
They turned out to be so delicious!!!

Light the Night

Thank you for supporting "Light the Night: Taking Steps to Cure Cancer."  Light The Night Walk is The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society's walk and fundraising event to pay tribute and bring hope to people battling cancer. The past 2 Fridays we have been raising money for Light the Night.  This Friday will be "Dunk Cancer."  Saturday in Wilson Park Light the Night will take place.  Please come walk with us.  There are "Beat Cancer" t-shirts for sell in the office for $10.
Mrs. Adcock's son, Brooks had cancer as a little boy.  Mrs. Adcock has been devoted to "Light the Night" and raising money for the children who need it.  She has done and incredible job.  Continue to pray for the children who are battling cancer.  We are so thankful that God put a healing hand on Brook's and so many others.

Thank you for your support and God bless!

Fall is here!

That means our Pumpkin Patch field trip is coming up!  It is October 14th.  The kids are really excited about it.  Also, Logan Smith's daddy will be selling pumpkins.  He is set up in front of Burger King.  Give him a visit :)  Logan's mom said last year Logan tried to sell some flowers for $200 so maybe he will give you a deal. haha!

We are all getting our fall decor out and the weather has been PERFECT!  Praise God for his blessings he sends us.
Mrs. Rutledge's class has a new student.  Hello, Mr. Scarecrow!

We have spotted some glowing pumpkins in Mr. Looser's room too!
