Time to FEAST!

All week we have been studying about Pilgrims and Indians.  If you ask your child about the first Thanksgiving they can probably tell you about the Mayflower, the Plymouth Rock, the Indians, the Pilgrims and more.  They have really enjoyed learning the story about the first Thanksgiving.

It's been fun for us teachers to sing our Indian songs and to participate in our Thanksgiving activities.
Thank you for all of those who helped with our feast.  It turned out wonderfully!  The food was so YUMMY!

Gobble Gobble Happy Turkey Day!

Student of the Week

Congrats to Braxton Bevis in Mr. Looser's class on being the Elementary School's Student of the Week!
Mr. Looser says that Braxton is a hard worker, he listens all the time, and is a great example to others.
We are so proud of Braxton and his award!

Halloween Treat

Off to Mrs. Swinea's Room we go....

Mrs. Swinea is the high school Biology teacher.  Every year she takes the K4 and Kindergarten classes and performs a "Flaming Pumpkin."  A Jack O'Lantern blows fire out of its mouth. It was really cool!
She also let us look at her 2 snakes and ferret.  The oldest snake is 25 years old (same age as Mr. Looser and Mrs. Rutledge) and his name is Regis.

Thanks Mrs. Swinea for the visit!

We liked Mr. Derr and Mrs. Smith's outfits! haha

Happy Halloween!

We enjoyed Mr. Billy coming to tell us a Spooky Tale of 2 kids visiting a Witch's house.  Mr. Billy is Mrs. Rutledge's brother.  He brought us all a treat too!  Inside a cauldron he had the witch's hair, eyeballs, and brains (spaghetti and grapes).  Some of the kids were brave enough to touch it.  The kids said lots of comments such as...."COOL!"  "Ew, it's gooie."  "Yuck, it's slimy."  They felt very brave after touching it.
