Polar Express Field Trip

We had a blast on our Field Trip.  I think we could all agree that this was one of the best days in Kindergarten.  Thanks to all the parents and grandparents who helped us out at Burger King.
Thank you to our students who's behavior was GREAT on our field trip.  What a fun day!

Camaya has her ticket and is ready to go!

All ready for the Polar Express!

Ms. Jessica did a great job reading the book to us!

All snuggled up.

Student of the week

Congrats to Haleigh Stone on being the Student of the week!
She is such a great friend, student, and helper.  She is very patient and kind.  If you see Haleigh at school she always has a big smile on her face.

Thank you Haleigh for being in my class!

Teachers go see Dr. Jean

I don't know if you have heard of Dr. Jean but she is very well known for her cd's and books.  She was an amazing Kindergarten teacher who now travels around the United States and shares her ideas.  The kids love singing her songs in the morning around the carpet.

Kristi, Thad, and I got up early and headed to Birmingham to listen to her speak.  We got a FULL day of her ideas, songs, and activities.  We were so excited to get back and use these ideas. If you need a good cd for your kids to sing to in the car look her up.  She has catchy songs with lyrics that help the children learn.  You can also go to youtube and look up Dr. Jean and some of her videos are up.  The kids love singing to those too.  We are very thankful to have he opportunity to have this experience!

Time to FEAST!

All week we have been studying about Pilgrims and Indians.  If you ask your child about the first Thanksgiving they can probably tell you about the Mayflower, the Plymouth Rock, the Indians, the Pilgrims and more.  They have really enjoyed learning the story about the first Thanksgiving.

It's been fun for us teachers to sing our Indian songs and to participate in our Thanksgiving activities.
Thank you for all of those who helped with our feast.  It turned out wonderfully!  The food was so YUMMY!

Gobble Gobble Happy Turkey Day!

Student of the Week

Congrats to Braxton Bevis in Mr. Looser's class on being the Elementary School's Student of the Week!
Mr. Looser says that Braxton is a hard worker, he listens all the time, and is a great example to others.
We are so proud of Braxton and his award!

Halloween Treat

Off to Mrs. Swinea's Room we go....

Mrs. Swinea is the high school Biology teacher.  Every year she takes the K4 and Kindergarten classes and performs a "Flaming Pumpkin."  A Jack O'Lantern blows fire out of its mouth. It was really cool!
She also let us look at her 2 snakes and ferret.  The oldest snake is 25 years old (same age as Mr. Looser and Mrs. Rutledge) and his name is Regis.

Thanks Mrs. Swinea for the visit!

We liked Mr. Derr and Mrs. Smith's outfits! haha

Happy Halloween!

We enjoyed Mr. Billy coming to tell us a Spooky Tale of 2 kids visiting a Witch's house.  Mr. Billy is Mrs. Rutledge's brother.  He brought us all a treat too!  Inside a cauldron he had the witch's hair, eyeballs, and brains (spaghetti and grapes).  Some of the kids were brave enough to touch it.  The kids said lots of comments such as...."COOL!"  "Ew, it's gooie."  "Yuck, it's slimy."  They felt very brave after touching it.

We LOVE some fall time!

I meant to upload these this weekend and was super busy.  Enjoy these pictures of our outside time. Autumn is a time that reminds us of how creative our God is.  What a beautiful world he gave us!
We are blessed with beautiful weather, great classes, and a wonderful school.  Thank you, God!
Thanks for visiting Chik-fil-a Cows!

We joined the whole school to watch Mars Hill Show Choir on the TODAY show!

Are you ready for some football?
